Current Advances In Severe Aplastic Anaemia Symposia

Treatment outcome of Aplastic anaemia has improved greatly with the introduction of Eltrombopag into the standard of care for those who are ineligible for allogeneic stem cell transplant.

There is also a trend towards utilizing Eltrombopag with immunosuppressive therapy, namely Antithymoglobulin, cyclosporin and steroid as first line therapy for all patients, reserving the allogeneic stem cells transplant for those who fail the Eltrombopag combination therapy.
